PECS (the Programme for Ecosystem Change and Society) is a Future Earth core-project, one of 21 such global change research projects. PECS aims to integrate research on the stewardship of social-ecological systems, the services they generate, and the relationships among natural capital, human wellbeing, livelihoods, inequality and poverty. PECS1 held in Stellenbosch, South Africa in 2015, PECS2 held in Oaxaca, Mexico in 2017, PECS3 will be held in Montreal Canada (12-15 August 2024), co-hosted by The Programme on Ecosystem Change and Society, the Resilience Alliance, and NSERC ResNet. It aims to how to transform sustainable development to better contend with the challenges of the Anthropocene informed by issues and solutions in multiple knowledges and values. we anticipate attendance of around 400 delegates.
